Public Notice Klamath River Reach Between Keno, Oregon and Hornbrook, California Updates to Recreation Access Sites Seasonal Closures When: Winter Season What: The Klamath River Renewal Corporation (KRRC) is implementing its Recreation Management Plan and opened five day-use recreation access sites in 2025 along the restored reach of the Klamath River at the previous J.C. Boyle, Copco, and Iron Gate reservoir areas. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) manages the two sites in Oregon and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Service (CDFW) manages the three sites in California. ODFW and CDFW will monitor conditions at the recreation sites throughout the winter, and close sites as needed based on conditions. For now, all sites will remain open past the previously-announced closure of November 20, 2025. All users should be aware that the recreation sites are not maintained for winter use and snow or ice may limit access. New closures may be announced this winter based on weather conditions and the associated public safety of accessing the sites. Access information on the Oregon sites is available on the Oregon State Marine Board Boating Access Report website (www.oregon.gov/osmb/boater-info/pages/opportunities-and-access.aspx). Any California site closures will be announced via press release.
