The following are summaries of ordinances and resolutions adopted by Canton City Council on Nov. 17, 2025. The complete text of the ordinances or resolutions may be obtained for 10 cents per page or viewed free at the office of the Clerk of Council in City Hall, 218 Cleve. Ave. S.W., Canton, Ohio 44702, during non holiday weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ordinance No. 213/2025
The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to enter into a donation agreement with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank in the amount of $50,000. Adopted as an emergency.
Resolution No. 214/2025
Council approves a Statement of Services to be provided to the property owners in The 2100 38th St. NW - 2025 Annexation Area, consisting of approximately 2.865 acres, in Plain Twp. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 215/2025
The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to sign a petition for annexation for Parcel No. 5219650. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 216/2025
Council accepts the annexation of the territory known as The 2625 Maret St NE - 2025 Annexation Area containing approx. 2.013 acres of land, per the legal description (Ex. A) and the map (Ex. B). Said annexed land from Plain Twp. shall be assigned to Ward 6 and zoned B-3 (General Business District.) Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 217/2025
Effective Jan. 1, 2026, management and non-bargaining unit employees employed by the city of Canton on Jan. 1, 2026 shall be eligible to receive a wage increase of 3% at the discretion of their appointing authority. Appointing authorities authorizing the wage increases are required to notify the Auditor’s office in writing. Elected officials shall not be eligible for this wage increase. Ex. A to Ord. No. 10/2024, the Classification Plan and General Salaries for Mgt. and Non-Bargaining Unit Employees of Canton, is amended to increase the salary minimums and maximums by 3% for Mgt. and Non-Bargaining unit classifications to account for the cost of living adjustment. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 218/2025
The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to sign all contracts necessary to allow for three easements to extend a water line north on Middlebranch Ave. NE with property owners Michael D. & Kathleen R. Elrick, Heidelberg Materials US Cement, LLC and Burns Investments, Ltd. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 219/2025
Appropriation Ord. No. 55/2025 is amended by making various supplemental appropriations and appropriation transfers necessary for the efficient operation of the city. Adopted as an emergency.
