RESOLUTION SETTING A DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING
ON A PROPOSED VACATION OF A PORTION
OF A PUBLIC STREET
Vacation of a parcel of land being a part of Jordan McGee Road, a 50 foot Right-of-Way

WHEREAS, CAROLYN R. MCGEE AS PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE ESTATE OF JAMES E. MCGEE, (1/2 INTEREST); CHARLES WAYNE WEST, a married man (1/4 INTEREST) AND DENNIS MACK WEST, a married man (1/4 INTEREST) desires to vacate a portion of a public street within the City Limits of the City of Tuscaloosa; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to ALA. CODE 23-4-20 (1975), the City Council of Tuscaloosa is required to hold a public hearing, notice of which is required by statute, to determine the assent to the vacation of such public streets/alleys; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSCALOOSA as follows:
That a public hearing shall be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber of City Hall, to determine the assent to the vacation of a portion of a parcel of land being a part of the of Jordan McGee Road, a 50 foot Right-of-Wayand described as follows, to wit:
A parcel of land being a part of the proposed Right-of-Way vacation of Jordan McGee Road, a 50 foot Right-of-Way and also being located in the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 34, Township 21 South, Range 9 West in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama and being more particularly described as follows:
As a STARTING POINT, begin at a concrete monument found marking the Northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 34; thence run in a Southerly direction along the Western boundary of said Quarter-Quarter for a distance of 137.06 feet to a point; thence with a deflection angle of 79 degrees 03 minutes to the left , run in a Southeasterly direction for a distance of 440.73 feet; thence with a deflection angle of 18 degrees 02 minutes to the right, continue in a Southeasterly direction for a distance of 104.53 feet; thence a deflection angle of 21 degrees 00 minutes to the left, continue in a Southeasterly direction for a distance of 535.73 feet to a point on the curving North Right-of-Way of Interstate 59/ 20, a variable width Right-of-Way, having a delta angle of 0 degrees 20 minutes and a radius of 11,309.18 feet, and the POINT OF BEGINNING of the Right-of-Way vacation herein described; thence with a deflection angle of 1 degree 31 minutes to the left, to the chord, continue in a Southeasterly direction along said curving Right-of-Way for a chord distance of 65.35 feet (arc distance 65.35 feet) to a point; thence with an interior angle of 130 degrees 05 minutes to the right, from the chord, run in a Northeasterly direction along said proposed Right-of-Way vacation for a distance of 200.78 feet to a point on the Southwestern Right-of-Way of JVC Road, a variable width Right-of-Way; thence with an interior angle of 61 degrees 12 minutes to the right, run in a Northwesterly direction along said Right-of-Way and said proposed Right-of-Way vacation for a distance of 57.06 feet to a point; thence with an interior angle of 118 degrees 48 minutes run in a Southwesterly direction along said proposed Right-of-Way vacation for a distance of 215.36 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING of the parcel herein described, at which point the interior angle is 49 degrees 55 minutes to the right, to the chord. Said parcel containing 0.24 acres.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED pursuant to Ala. Code §23-4-20 (1975) that the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish this resolution in The Tuscaloosa News, a daily newspaper of general circulation once a week for four (4) consecutive weeks prior to said date of January 13, 2026. The City Clerk is also instructed to post a copy of this notice on a bulletin board at the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse. The City Clerk is further instructed to mail a copy of this resolution at least 30 days prior to the scheduled hearing to the address(es) of any of the abutting landowner(s) as set forth in said application unless said landowner waived such notice in said application, as well as to any entity know to have facilities or equipment, including aerial or buried utility lines, within the area proposed to be vacated.
