KITSAP COUNTY WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 12-08-2025
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KITSAP CONSERVATION DISTRICT, KITSAP COUNTY, WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING THE 2026 ELECTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS.
WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the Kitsap Conservation District (“District”) operates under the laws of the State of Washington applicable to conservation districts.
WHEREAS the District is governed by a five-member board, as set out in RCW Chapter 89.08 and WAC Section 135-110.
WHEREAS the three-year term of Jackie Lovely who holds elected Position #3 on the Board of Supervisors of the Kitsap Conservation District, will expire in May of 2026
WHEREAS the three-year term of David Vliet who holds appointed Position #4 on the Board of Supervisors of the Kitsap Conservation District, will expire in May of 2026
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the Kitsap Conservation District, Kitsap County, Washington, as follows:
Section 1. The Kitsap Conservation District Board of Supervisors election will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026. The election supervisor will be Helen Jones.
Section 2. Ballots will be available to eligible voters through digital access beginning January 15, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Eligible voters are registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the District. Ballots can be obtained by voters at the following link: https://kitsapcd.org/elections. Deadline for online ballot access is February 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Voters that require accommodation to vote may call 360-204-5529 ext. 113 or e-mail j-garit@kitsapcd.org.
Those requiring a paper ballot may vote in person on February 6, 2026, between the hours of 10AM and 2PM at Kitsap Conservation District, 10332 Central Valley RD. NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370. No other drop boxes are being offered for Kitsap Conservation District ballots.
Votes will be counted February 10, 2026, at 2 PM.
Section 3. Interested candidates must be registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the District. The deadline for candidate filing for Position #3 on the Kitsap Conservation District Board of Supervisors is January 6, 2026, at noon (12:00 PM). Applications must be returned to Kitsap Conservation District, 10332 Central Valley RD. NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370. Any candidate statements must be included with the filing application and are limited to 200 words. Instructions and forms for filing can be found at the Washington State Conservation Commission website at https://sccwagov.app.box.com/s/xl4p2jlrkt6d3ac9tt64mv0gtzbdjr9l.
Section 4. The deadline for candidate filing for appointed Position #4 is March 31, 2026. Appointed positions are filled by the Washington State Conservation Commission. A conservation district supervisor is a public official who serves without compensation and who sets policy and direction for the conservation district. The published election procedures can be viewed at the District office and are available from the Washington State Conservation Commission at www.scc.wa.gov/elections and appointments.
