LEGAL NOTICE
Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the Service Director, 576 West Park Avenue, Barberton, Ohio until 10:00 a.m. local time on January 7, 2026, for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the project known as Pickup and Disposal of Residentially Collected Waste and Curbside Collection and Disposal of Recyclable Materials, for the City of Barberton, Ohio, and at said time and place, publicly opened and read aloud. Specifications and plans are now on file in the office of the City Engineer.
Contract documents, bid sheets, plans, and specifications can be obtained at the office of the Director of Public Service, 576 West Park Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44203, or by emailing tshreve@cityofbarberton.com with your request for the aforementioned documents.
Each bid must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein and be accompanied by a certified check on some solvent bank or bid bond in the amount of $1,500.00 as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured (Business Services Bond/Performance Bond for 100% of the proposal). Should any bid be rejected, such check will be forthwith returned to the bidders. Should any bid be accepted, such check will be returned upon proper execution and securing of said contract. BIDDERS MUST USE THE ATTACHED “BID SHEET” FOR RESPONSE. BID BOND OR CERTIFIED CHECK MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE FRONT COVER OF THIS SPECIFICATION BOOK.
This signed bid shall be considered an offer on the part of the bidder, which offer shall be deemed accepted upon approval by the City Board of Control within 30 days of the bid, or the issuance of a purchase order, and in case of a default on the part of the bidder after such acceptance, the City of Barberton, Ohio, may take such action as it deems appropriate, including legal action for damages or specific performance.
Failure to comply with bid deposit or check requirements as stated in the bid documents shall be considered a material deviation and shall mean that the City shall reject any non-complying bids.
Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex, national origin, or disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to award the contract to the lowest and best bidder. Prospective bidders will note that the Board of Control has the discretion to make the final award.
Bidders must use the printed form as no other will be accepted. The bids shall be bound, sealed, unmutilated, and marked in the lower left-hand face of the envelope: “BID FOR Pickup and Disposal of Residentially Collected Waste and Curbside Collection and Disposal of Recyclable Materials IN THE CITY OF BARBERTON TO BE OPENED January 7, 2026, at 10:00 A.M.”
