To: Kraig T. Pugh; Occupants of; Anderson State Bank; Knox County Clerk; and all other persons/entities UNKNOWN having or claiming any right, interest or title in the following described real estate:
A tract of land located in a part of the NE1/4 of Section 23, T12N, R2E of the 4th P.M., Knox County, Illinois. More particularly bounded and described as follows and bearings are Commencing at an iron rod at the Northwest corner of the NE1/4 of said Section 23; Thence S 00°00'00'' W, along the West line of the NE1/4 of said Section 23, a distance of 479.55 feet to the Place of Beginning for the tract to be described; Thence N 89°35'00'' E, along an existing fence line, 245.55 feet to an iron rod; Thence S 02°03'00'' E, 322.84 feet to an iron rod; Thence N 87°35'35'' W, 257.32 feet to the West line of the NE1/4 of said Section 23; Thence N 00°00'00'' E, along the West line of the NE1/4 of said Section 23, a distance of 310.04 feet to the Place of Beginning. On November 19, 2025, McVest LLC Jeremiah McCalmont filed a Petition for Order of Tax Deed. The object of the plaintiff’s petition is to foreclose on the Tax Sale Certificate No. 2022-0044 for the delinquent taxes on real estate described above which was issued by the Knox County Treasurer on November 17, 2023. The taxes due under the certificate are for the 2022 tax year. The petition asks the court to direct the county clerk to issue a tax deed if the property is not redeemed from the sale on or before May 18, 2026, and that Petitioner, as grantee of tax deed be put in possession of said parcel of real estate. The Petition for Order of Tax Deed will be brought before the Knox County Circuit Court on May 27, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in Courtroom 202 or via Zoom (9thjudicial.org). If you fail to redeem, the court may enter a judgment for the relief demanded in the petition.
