ORDINANCE S-52473 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND THE CURRENT CONTRACT WITH SMITHS DECTECTION INC; FURTHER REQUEST AN EXCEPTION TO THE INDEMNITY AND ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY PROVISIONS OF PHOENIX CITY CODE SECTION 42-18; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY CONTROLLER TO DISBURSE FUNDS PURSUANT TO THE CONTRACT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHOENIX as follows: SECTION 1. The City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized to make amend the current contract with Smiths Detection Inc. to provide annual x-ray machine maintenance for the Police Department. The aggregate value of the contract will not exceed one hundred sixty-two thousand two hundred sixty-six dollars ($162,266). The contract will begin on or about Dec. 3, 2025, for a five-year term with no options to extend. Further request an exception to the indemnity and assumption of liability provisions of Phoenix City Code Section 42-18. Request to continue using Ordinance S-52319. SECTION 2. The City Controller is authorized to disburse funds for the purposes of this ordinance. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Phoenix this 3rd day of December 2025.
