The regular meeting of the Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District Number Three Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, October 27, 2025. The meeting took place at the Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 Training Building in Cut Off. Chairman Reggie Pitre called the meeting to order at 5:01 PM. PLEDGE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG: Chairman Pitre led the pledge to our flag. ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS: Chairman Reggie Pitre–Present; Vice-Chairman Dean Savoie–Present; Commissioner Morris Guidry–Present; Commissioner Aaron Montez–Present; Commissioner Troy Dufrene–Present. APPROVAL OF BOARD MEETING MINUTES: Commissioner Savoie moved to accept the minutes of the September 23, 2025, Regular Board Meeting, as written, seconded by Commissioner Montez. No public comments. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Guidry–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene- Yea; Commissioner Montez– Yea. OLD BUSINESS: Hebert advised GIS met with Picciola for concrete repairs to driveway. Tomorrow Picciola will pressure wash driveway to see what happens. Discussion held. Hebert advised the Training Tower is complete. First Training was held yesterday. Introduced Change Order No. 2 giving LPFD3 a $2,000 credit and a 3-yr warranty on the concrete surrounding the building, due to Foret not being satisfied with the work. Commissioner Savoie motioned to approve Change Order No. 2, seconded by Commissioner Dufrene. Public comments: None. Will have to get with electrician for the status on West Cut Off Temporary Station, but there are trucks responding out of that station. Hebert stated mold has come back in Port Fourchon Station. GIS and Nick Marshall made the same recommendation. Discussion held. Ben Rath w/ CSRS met with CMA on Fire Central's demolition plans-will be sent for bid tomorrow or Wednesday. Reviewed schematic plans, looking for feedback from LPFD3 next week. West Cut Off Station: Received response from Parish Code Official, working on a letter to send back to FEMA. South Golden Meadow: Met with engineers, Nick Marshall, and Parish Admin about power. Pole has to be moved, we should know something in a few days. Discussion held. Leeville: Will be asking for reimbursement for unpaid amount. Port Fourchon: Will be asking for reimbursement for unpaid amount. Training Tower: Will be asking for reimbursement for unpaid amount. ICC Waiver: Linda worked with Jada and Michaela, won't hear anything back until next year. Chairman Pitre asked if the government shutdown will hinder progress. Rath thinks there will be some impact. NEW BUSINESS: Enable Chief Dedon to accept and sign demo package for Fire Central. Commissioner Guidry motioned to approve Chief Dedon accept and sign FC demo package, seconded by Commissioner Montez. Public comments: None. Master Mechanic Pitre advised he received 2 responses: $541,046 from US Fire Pumps. Sunbelt didn't meet requirements. Discussion held. Chief Dedon advised State of Louisiana will give us $150K to assist with purchase. Dufrene motioned to go with responsible bidder, seconded by Commissioner Montez. Public comments: None. Chief Dedon requested to do the same as last year and allow employees to cash out vacation hours. If everyone takes out 100 hours, it will cost $49,135.99. FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT: Chief Dedon advised he's working with LAD to get approval to continue dispatching. 6 more personnel got Swift Water certified, 13 total. Training scheduled with OSTA (On Scene Training Associates) all day yesterday, tonight, and Wednesday night. Invited board members and everyone to attend. Would like to enter into automatic aid agreement for houses at the end of Hamiliton Street. This agreement will help the residents who live back there (6-7 houses) and bridge has been replaced. Chief Dedon advised 77% of all calls dispatched are for LAD and 23% for Fire District 3. Assisted GIFD with structure fire yesterday, everyone did good. ARFF members completed hot drills at FETA. Jada completed grant through Firehouse Subs for rescue boat.
COMMUNICATION'S REPORT: Supervisor Mary St. Pierre absent. Chief Dedon advised they went out to South Walton to look at Dispatch Center and CAD. Thanked Ryan for rescuing them-they broke down on the way back. MECHANIC'S REPORT: Master Mechanic Ryan Pitre reported he received 25 CAD work orders and 19 maintenance reports. 4 trucks brought in for routine maintenance. HQ17 is at Earl's Transmissions. Engine 50 at North Larose Station for routine maintenance. Engine 92 went down this afternoon, explained problem. Chairman Pitre asked about CFMs to fill bottles in Connex box. MM Pitre explained. Chairman Pitre asked procedure to purchase pick-up trucks. MM Pitre advised purchases are made through state contract. Discussion held. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: None.
