Notice of Proposed Increase to Resort Area Tax Put-in-Bay Township, Ohio NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Put-in-Bay Township Trustees that the Trustees intent of the Township to increase the Resort Area Tax levied by Put-In-Bay Township and to submit the question of such increase to the electors of the Township, as authorized by Ohio Revised Code 5739.101(G). The resolution proposes to increase the rate of the Resort Area Tax from One and One Half Percent (1.5%) to Two Percent (2%) on the privilege of making sales, and on transporting passengers or property, within the designated resort area of Put-In-Bay Township. This proposed increase will be placed on the ballot at the next election held in Put-In-Bay Township on May 5, 2026 for approval by the majority of the electors. If approved by a majority of the electors voting on the question at the May 5, 2026 election, the increased tax rate will become effective on the first day of the calendar quarter beginning at least sixty-five (65) days after the Ohio Tax Commissioner receives notice of the affirmative vote.
