LEGAL NOTICE TOWN OF HORSEHEADS PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that I, Cathy R. Wood, the undersigned Receiver of Taxes and Assessments for the Town of Horseheads, County of Chemung and State of New York, have duly received the tax rolls and warrant for the collection of taxes within the Town of Horseheads for the year 2026 and that I will attend at the Town Hall, 150 Wygant Road, Horseheads, New York for the purpose of receiving the taxes listed on said rolls from January 5, 2026 through March 31, 2026, excepting for holidays, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Taxes may also be viewed and/or paid on-line at www.townofhorseheads.gov or at any Chemung Canal Trust Company Bank during regular banking hours with the original tax bill. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, the taxes may be paid on or before February 2, 2026 without penalty. On all taxes received after such date, there shall be added interest of one percent through March 2, 2026 and an additional one percent interest plus an additional Two Dollar ($2.00) penalty through March 31, 2026, pursuant to Section 987 of the Real Property Tax law and Town Board Resolution No. 133 of 1994. TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, pursuant to the provisions of the law, the tax rolls of the Town of Horseheads will be returned to the Chemung County Treasurer on the third day of April, 2026 or shortly thereafter.
