LEGAL NOTICE TOWN OF VETERAN   PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that I, Jenny Reese, the undersigned Collector of Taxes for the Town of Veteran, County of Chemung and State of New York, have received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of taxes within the Town of Veteran, County of Chemung, State of New York for the year 2026. I will attend the Town Hall in said Town, January 2, 2026 to March 31, 2026 from 9:30am to 5:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, except Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays for the purpose of receiving taxes assessed upon such tax roll. TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, the taxes may be paid on or before January 31, 2026 without penalty. On all taxes received after such date there shall be added interest of one percent through February 28, 2026 and additional one percent interest, plus an additional Two Dollar ($2.00) penalty, through March 31, 2026, pursuant to Section 987 of the Real Property Tax Law and Town Board Resolution No. 99 of 2024. TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, pursuant to provisions of the law, the tax roll of the Town of Veteran will be returned to the County Treasurer on the Fourth day of April 2026 or shortly thereafter.
