TO VOTERS IN THE
MOUNT ARLINGTON BOROUGH
SPECIAL SCHOOL ELECTION – JANUARY 27, 2026
A Special School Election will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 for the voters in Mount Arlington Borough. Polls will open between the hours of 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Voters in this municipality will be voting on the following Budgetary Spending Proposal Question:
BUDGETARY SPENDING PROPOSAL QUESTION
The Board of Education of the Borough of Mount Arlington in the County of Morris, New Jersey shall raise an additional $975,000 for General Funds in the 2026-2027 school year. These taxes will be used exclusively to provide for various purposes, including but not limited to maintaining teachers, instructional staff, facilities, curricular programs, athletics and extracurricular activities. Approval of these taxes will result in a permanent increase in the School District’s tax levy. The additional taxes authorized herein will be used exclusively for purposes described herein and to finance expenditures that are in addition to those necessary to achieve the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
INTERPRETIVE STATEMENT
If the Budgetary Spending Proposal is approved by the voters at this election, the Board of Education will be authorized to raise an additional $975,000 for General Funds in the 2026-2027 school year. These taxes will be used exclusively to provide for various purposes, including but not limited to maintaining teachers, instructional staff, facilities, curricular programs, athletics and extracurricular activities. Sample Ballots will be mailed out on or before 12 noon on Wednesday, January 21st for your voting district and polling location. The Board of Elections will have the following Ballot Drop Boxes open for any voter who wishes to return a Vote-By-Mail Ballot in this manner.

ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
Pursuant to provisions of the Voting Accessibility for the Elderly and Handicapped Act of 1984 (Public law 98-435), a telecommunication device for the deaf (TTY) is maintained at the Election Division, Department of State, Trenton, New Jersey. Persons wishing to utilize this service to obtain general voter information may do so by dialing 1-800-292-0034 or call the Morris County Board of Elections at 973-285-6715.
Any person who is unable to vote due to blindness, disability or inability to read or write may bring someone to the polls to assist them; you may also be assisted at the polls by district Board Workers. Or, you may apply to the Morris County Clerk for a Mail-In Ballot by calling (973) 285-6126 (6066). Any person who is unable to vote at the polling place due to permanent or temporary physical disability may also apply to the Morris County Clerk for a Mail-In Ballot or visit www.morriscountyclerk.org or www.elections.morriscountynj.gov.
