AML Cambridge Open House Meeting
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) will host an open house meeting on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Cambridge ODNR Office, 9900 Brick Church Road, Cambridge, Ohio 43725 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Please call 614-935-0785 for additional information regarding the open house.
The purpose of the open house meeting is to discuss abandoned mine land projects that are proposed for construction in 2026. Staff from the ODNR Division of Mineral Resources Management will be available to discuss environmental and public health and safety issues associated with Ohio's abandoned mines.
Staff will present a list of proposed projects for Belmont, Guernsey, Muskingum, and Perry counties. Funds are available for coal mines abandoned before August 3, 1977, when legislation to address the issue of abandoned mine lands went into effect.
The following projects will be implemented utilizing federal grant funds allocated to Ohio as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. ODNR was awarded a $46.4 million grant in 2024 to fund abandoned mine reclamation throughout the state's coal mining region.
