Sealed proposals will be received by the Montgomery County Commission Purchasing Department at its office at 101 South Lawrence Street, Montgomery, Alabama, 36104 at 10:00 a.m., CST on Friday, January 30, 2026, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read. Bidders are responsible for assuring their bid is received prior to bid opening date and time.
A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for Friday January 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. CST at the Carnegie Building located at 131 South Perry Street, Montgomery, Alabama, 36104.
All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope bearing on the outside the title of work, name of the bidder, and the date of the bid opening. Envelopes containing bids must be addressed as follows and delivered to Montgomery County Commission Purchasing Department, 101 South Lawrence Street, Montgomery County Administrative Building Annex III, Montgomery, AL 36104: Bid No. 52110-26B-007 Installation of Owner- Purchased Generator System.
The work of the project (Work) includes but is not limited to the installation of a new- owner-purchased emergency back-up generator system at the Carnegie Building located at 131 South Perry Street, Montgomery, AL 36104. The building structure is approximately 13,675 SF in footprint size. The project shall be completed within one hundred twenty (120) working days.
A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to Montgomery County Commission (Montgomery County) in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00 must accompany the bidder’s proposal.
A performance bond in the form and terms approved by the Montgomery County Commission in an amount not less than the contract price will be required at the signing of the contract if the contract exceeds $100,000.00. In addition, the successful bidder on this project (Successful Bidder) must furnish to Montgomery County, at the time of signing the contract, a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the specifications and verification of E-Verify.
Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by Montgomery County or copies thereof. All bidders bidding an amount exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8 Ala. Code (1975) as amended, and must show evidence of licensure before bidding or bid will not be received or considered. Bidders shall show evidence by clearly displaying their current license on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. Bidders must also include their current license number on the Proposal Form. Bidders may not withdraw bids within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
Montgomery County Commission reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive technical errors, if, in its judgment, the best interests of Montgomery County will thereby be promoted.
