Notice of Public Hearing
On June 17, 2025, by adoption of Resolution 110-2025, the Township Council of the Township of Medford, Burlington County, New Jersey authorized and directed the Medford Township Planning Board to undertake a preliminary investigation to determine whether the following areas of the Township, qualify as a “Non-Condemnation Redevelopment Area(s)” according to the criteria set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-et.seq. of the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law (LRHL).
A. The Fair Housing Opportunity: Camp EFS, LLC Area: Block 302, Lot 28.02 and 39.03
In addition, if authorized by the Township Council:
B. The Fair Housing Opportunity: Park View at Kirby’s Mill Area: Block 803, Lots 6.01 and 6.02
Particularly, the Township Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the Township for the Planning Board to conduct such an investigation for parcels that have been included in Medford Township’s Fourth Round Housing Element and Fair Share Plan endorsed by the Medford Township Council by Resolution 217-2025 on December 16, 2025 and adopted by the Medford Planning Board by Resolution 17-2005 on December 18, 2025, to satisfy the Township’s constitutional obligation to provide a realistic opportunity for the Township’s Fourth Round regional share of affordable housing development within the Township.
Pursuant to this assignment mandated by the Township Council, the Medford Township Planner has engaged in the preparation of a preliminary investigation to determine whether the specified areas of the Township are in fact in need of Redevelopment, Without Condemnation.
The Township Planner has prepared the preliminary “Need for Redevelopment, without Condemnation” and/ which contains maps showing the boundaries of the potential Redevelopment Areas and the location of properties included therein and provides a statement setting forth the basis for the investigation.
The Redevelopment Law requires the Planning Board to conduct a public hearing prior to making its determination on whether any of the referred Study Areas or portions thereof shall be designated as a “Non-Condemnation Redevelopment Area(s).
The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 6:30 pm, prevailing time, at the Medford Township Public Safety Building, located at 91 Union Street, Medford, New Jersey 08055.
Copies of the aforesaid documents are available for public review on the Township website and at the Planning Office in the Medford Township Municipal Building located at 49 Union Street, Medford, New Jersey 08055 and may be inspected by any interested party during regular business hours, normally 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
