NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING AND ORDINANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Coachella will hold a public hearing at a regular meeting on January 28, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, in the City Hall Council Chamber, 1515 6th Street St., Coachella, CA 92236. The purpose of the public hearing is to hear public testimony of all interested parties for Ordinance 1228 amending Title 15 of the Coachella Municipal Code and adopting the 2025 Edition of the California Building Standards Code (California Code of Regulations, Title 24) by reference and making local amendments thereto. State law permits local jurisdictions to amend the California Building Standards Codes and make more restrictive standards when an express finding and determination is made that such local amendments are reasonably necessary because of local climatic, geological, or topographic conditions that affect the jurisdiction; and are reasonably necessary. This proposed ordinance includes local amendments. The above is simply a summary of the Ordinance.
