BOARD OF EDUCATION TOWNSHIP OF HOWELL   PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL REGISTERED VOTERS IN HOWELL TOWNSHIP COUNTY OF MONMOUTH   THE HOWELL TOWNSHIP BOARD OF EDUCATION HEREBY GIVES NOTICE OF AN ANTICIPATED VACANCY IN THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE HOWELL TOWNSHIP BOARD OF EDUCATION AND CORDIALLY INVITES PERSONS INTERESTED IN FILLING THE ANTICIPATED VACANCY TO NOTIFY THE BOARD OF SAME.   Any person interested in being considered by the Howell Township Board of Education to fill a vacancy in the membership of the Howell Township Board of Education should send written/email (email preferred) notice of his/her interest, background information and/or personal statement, along with his/her full name, address and daytime telephone number to:   Ronald Sanasac Assistant Superintendent for Business Administration/Board Secretary Howell Township Board of Education A dministration Building PO Box 579 Howell, New Jersey 07731 rsanasac@howell.k12.nj.us (Indicate “Board Vacancy” in the email subject line)   THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF SAID NOTICE BY RONALD SANASAC IS NO LATER THAN 3:00PM ON JANUARY 26, 2026 Persons interested in filling the anticipated vacancy in the membership of the Howell Township Board of Education must satisfy all the requirements and meet all of the qualifications as required by law and the policies of the Howell Township Board of Education, including but not limited to the following:   Each member of any board of education shall be a citizen and resident of the district and shall have been one for at least one year immediately preceding his/her election or appointment, he/she shall be able to read and write, shall be registered to vote in the district, and, notwithstanding the provisions of P.L.1978, c.95 (N.J.S. 2C:51-1), he/she is not disqualified as a voter pursuant to L.1930, c.187, as amended (R.S. 19:4-1), L.1967, c.271 (N.J.S. 18A:12-1); and     No member of a board of education shall during the term for which he/she is elected or appointed, be eligible for appointment to any paid office or position required to be filled by the board of education unless he/she shall resign or cease to be a member at least 6 months prior to his/her appointment, except in cases where the office or position is by law required or permitted to be filled by a member of the board. L.1981, c.418, s.1 (N.J.S. 18A:12-1.1); and   No member of the board of education shall be interested directly or indirectly in any contract with or claim against the board, nor, in the case of local and regional school districts, shall he/she hold office as mayor or as a member of the governing body of a municipality. L.1967, c.271, as amended (N.J.S. 18A:12-2).   Interested persons are hereby advised that any and all interviews that the Howell Township Board of Education may choose to grant to interested persons will take place in public at the Regular Board of Education Meeting scheduled on February 4, 2026.   The term of appointment will be from the date the Board votes to approve the appointment at its Regular School Board Organization Meeting of February 4, 2026 to its Regular School Board Organization Meeting in January 2027. 1/14/2026 ($146.08)
