TOWN OF LAMARTINE FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WISCONSIN Ordinance Reducing or Modifying Speed Limits on Certain Town Highways The Town Board of the Town of Lamartine, with a quorum present and upon proper notice, hereby adopts the following ordinance to reduce or modify the speed limit on certain Town highways in the Town as follows: Section 1. Reduction of Speed Limit a. Pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 349.11, after the installation of appropriate signage, speed limits on certain Town of Lamartine town highways are reduced or modified as follows: 1. The speed limit on the entirety of Fairview Road, a distance of approximately 0.96 miles, is hereby modified to 45 miles per hour. 2. The speed limit on the entirety of Johnson Road, a distance of approximately 2.07 miles, is hereby modified to 45 miles per hour. 3. The speed limit on the portion of Nelson Road between Brown Road and County Road T, a distance of approximately 1 mile, is hereby modified to 45 miles per hour. 4. The speed limit on the portion of Nelson Road between County Road T and Forest Avenue Road, a distance of approximately 1 mile, is hereby modified to at 45 miles per hour. Section 2. Signage. a. Pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 349.11(5), the Town Chairperson, or his designee, shall place appropriate traffic signs at the above-described locations on or before the effective date of this ordinance. Section 3. Prohibition. a. No person may operate any vehicle on the above-noted portion of Nelson in violation of the above-described speed limit. Any violation shall be subject to penalties under Wis. Stat. § 346.60. This ordinance is effective upon its posting and publication as required by law and after the installation of adequate signage. The Town Clerk and Town Attorney are hereby authorized and directed to take all action necessary to incorporate this ordinance into the Town of Lamartine Code of Ordinances.
