NOTICE OF PUBLIC AND QUASI-JUDICIAL HEARINGS
NEW HANOVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
February 2, 2026
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will hold public hearings on Monday, February 2, 2026, beginning at 4:00 p.m. or thereafter at the New Hanover County Historic Courthouse, 24 North Third Street (corner of Third and Princess Street), Room 301, in Wilmington, NC to consider the following:
PUBLIC COMMENT:
For the upcoming Board of Commissioners meeting, individuals can submit public comments for public hearing items in advance to https://www.nhcgov.com/1105/Public-Comment-Form by Monday, February 2, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. While comments may be provided, only sworn testimony provided during the quasi-judicial hearing may be considered by the board in their deliberations. Written comments will be provided to the board, and the board chair will acknowledge receipt during the public hearing or submit comments into the record during the public hearing.
QUASI-JUDICIAL HEARING:
Special Use Permit – (S25-07 – Tideline Boats) – Special Use Permit request by Greg Taylor with TMC Taylor Construction, INC, on behalf of 2nd Wilmington Properties LLC, property owner, for the use of Ship and Boat Building in a (CZD) I-1, Conditional Light Industrial district on approximately 1.58 acres located at 2020 Capital Drive.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
Comprehensive Plan Adoption – Request by New Hanover County to adopt the NHC Destination 2050 Comprehensive Plan update.
Text Amendment - (TA25-05 – Comprehensive Plan Implementation and Maintenance) - Request by New Hanover County to amend the Unified Development Ordinance Articles 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 to update references to Comprehensive Plan place types, designate the Riverfront Mixed Use zoning district as a legacy district, modify transportation-related application requirements for PD rezonings, incorporate recent changes to state statutes, and correct an unintended conflict included in the recent sign standards ordinance amendment.
The Board of Commissioners may consider substantial changes to petitions as a result of testimony at the meeting.
