PUBLIC NOTICE
TO AWARD UPTOWN SHELBY MUNICIPAL SERVICE DISTRICT CONTRACT
Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 160A-535 et seq., the Municipal Service District Act, this public notice is alerting the public to the City of Shelby’s plans to award the Uptown Shelby Municipal Service District Contract to Uptown Shelby Association for a period of five (5) years. The Request for Proposals (RFP) was published on December 1, 2025, on the City of Shelby’s website, with a submission deadline of January 5, 2026. Award of this contract will support the continued maintenance, appearance, and overall vitality of the Uptown Shelby Municipal Service District. The City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed award of this contract at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, at City Hall in the City of Shelby Council Chambers, located at 300 South Washington Street, Shelby, North Carolina. The City Council invites all interested persons to attend and present their views.
