NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING   NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Anderson will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 P.M. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 1887 Howard Street, Third Floor, Anderson, CA 96007.   Applicant: City of Anderson Location: Not site-specific; citywide ordinance update   Project Description: REPEALING AND REENACTING CERTAIN CHAPTERS AND SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 15 OF THE ANDERSON MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2025 EDITION OF THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING STANDARDS CODE, KNOWN AS THE CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 24: The State Building Standards Commission adopted the 2025 California Building Standards Code (CBSC) with State amendments. It was published in July 2025 and became effective throughout the State in January 2026.   The State mandates through the Health and Safety Code that the CBSC be enforced by local jurisdictions. Local jurisdictions may not adopt lesser construction standards than those mandated by the State; however, they may adopt more stringent standards when based on findings of fact for climatic, geographical, or topographical reasons.   The three-year cycle is now complete, and the California Building Standards Commission has revised and published the 2025 California Building Standards Code. Jurisdictions throughout the state are required to adopt the 2025 CBSC.   Persons interested in commenting on this issue should appear before the City Council at the above place and time to provide comment.
