NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF ALMOND COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FUTURE LAND USE MAP AMENDMENT
AND PORTAGE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE MAP AMENDMENT
Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in Conference Room 1 & 2 of the County Annex, 1462 Strongs Avenue, Stevens Point, the Portage County Planning and Zoning Committee will hold a public hearing at which time and place all interested persons may appear and will be given an opportunity to be heard in support of or in opposition to REQ-2026-004 – A request by Aaron Parks, agent for owner James Burns & Sons Farms Inc., to amend the Town of Almond Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map designation of 5.729 acres out of 40 acres included in parcel 004210909-04.02 from L2 Intermediate Agriculture to L3 Limited Agriculture/Mixed Use; and to amend the zoning classification of the same area from A20 Primary Agricultural to A3 Low Density Agricultural. The reason for the request is to subdivide a 5.729-acre lot to build a house. The property is located at 8350 4th Street in the SE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 9, T21N, R9E, in the Town of Almond.

All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and be heard, and accommodations have been made to do so remotely if you prefer.
