NOTICE TO PREQUALIFY PROJECT: Swain County Middle School NOTICE DATE: 2/10/2026 PRE-QUALIFICATION CUTOFF DATE: Tuesday March 24 th , 2026, at 5:00PM EST BIDDER PRE-QUALIFICATION REQUEST: Vannoy Construction has been selected as the Construction Manager by Swain County Schools and is seeking to pre-qualify Contractors to submit bids for furnishing labor, materials, tools & equipment for the New Public Service Complex. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This prequalification process will cover the entire new construction of the New Middle School. Swain County Schools, North Carolina is proposing to construct a new 100,000 sqft Middle School, located at 414 Black Hill Road, Bryson City, North Carolina. The new school will consist of classroom wing, cafeteria, Gymnasium, and administration suite. The proposed building is a hybrid of Structural Pre-cast Concrete and Structural Steel Framing. The 14.9 acre site will include grading, utilities, storm drainage, & paving. This project would be constructed in 1 phase over the course of 20 months. Ground breaking is planned to take place in Fall of 2026, with a completion in Fall of 2028. The Design-Builder reserves the right to prequalify subcontractors and to engage one or more trade partners during the design phase in a design-assist or preconstruction services capacity , prior to establishment of a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). Selection of trade partners for early involvement may be based on qualifications, experience with similar projects, technical expertise, safety performance, and ability to collaborate in a Construction Manager environment , and is not based solely on price . Participation in design-assist or preconstruction services does not guarantee award of a construction subcontract , which may be subject to further evaluation, negotiation, and approval in accordance with applicable laws and project requirements. The Design-Builder reserves the right to reject any and all submissions , to modify the procurement process, add or delete packages and to solicit additional information as deemed necessary in the best interest of the project and the Owner.
