It is anticipated that a contract will be awarded by the South Milwaukee Common Council by, March 17, 2026 and the work under this contract shall be complete by October 31, 2026. The Common Council's decision as to qualification shall be final. Proposal must be placed in a sealed opaque envelope addressed to: "City Clerk, City of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin" and marked "Proposal for the 9th Avenue Roadway Rehabilitation" If the bid is sent by mail, the sealed envelope shall be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope with the notation "Sealed Bid Enclosed" on the face thereof. The City of South Milwaukee reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in the bidding. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids without the consent of the City of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time for closing bids. All proposals must be submitted on a form provided for that purpose as issued within the Document Set, together with a certified check or a bid bond not less than five (5%) percent of the bid, payable to the City of South Milwaukee as a guarantee that, if the bid accepted, the bidder will execute and file the contract and a performance bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the total proposal price within ten (10) working days after the award of the contract.
