VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
FOR THE SPRING ELECTION
TUESDAY, APRIL 7, 2026
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on election day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on election day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot.
TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE BALLOT, YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST IN WRITING.
Contact your municipal clerk to request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the election. You may also request an absentee ballot by letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, and the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different.
You can also personally go to the clerk's office between March 24 – April 3, complete a written application, and vote an absentee ballot according to the following schedule:
Tuesday, March 24 – Friday, March 27 – 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Monday, March 30 – Thursday, April 2 – 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Friday, April 3 – 12:00 p.m. (noon) – 5:00 p.m.

THE DEADLINE FOR MAKING APPLICATION TO VOTE ABSENTEE BY MAIL FOR THE SPRING ELECTION IS 4:00 P.M., THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 2026.
(MILITARY ELECTORS SHOULD CONTACT THE MUNICIPAL CLERK REGARDING THE DEADLINE FOR REQUESTING OR SUBMITTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT.)
THE DEADLINE FOR VOTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE FOR THE SPRING ELECTION IS 5:00 P.M., FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2026.
ALL VOTED BALLOTS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE MUNICIPAL CLERK SO THE CLERK CAN DELIVER THEM TO THE PROPER POLLING PLACE BEFORE THE POLLS CLOSE ON APRIL 7, 2026.
ANY BALLOTS POSTMARKED AFTER THE POLLS CLOSE WILL NOT BE COUNTED.
