
NOTICE TO RECEIVE SEALED BIDS
The City of Gretna will receive sealed bids from any qualified person, company or corporation interested in providing construction services for the following project:
GRETNA CDBG-MIT / MT 140 PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING EXPANSION
This is a CDBG-MIT (84 FR 45838, 8/10/2019) funded project. Funds have been awarded by the Florida Department of Commerce. Grant requirements include payment and performance bond both for 100% of the contract price, records must be maintained for (six) years after the grant is formally closed out, contractors and subcontractors are required to enroll in the US Dept. of Homeland Security's E-Verify System to verify employment eligibility of all new employees they hire during the term of their contract and key contract provisions as outlined in Appendix II such as Administrative, Contractual or Legal remedies in cases of contractor violations or breaches, contracts over $10K must specify the conditions under which the non-Federal entity can terminate the contract for cause or convenience, equal employment opportunity, Davis-Bacon Act compliance and contracts over $100K involving mechanics or laborers must include provisions for compliance with the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act.
This project consists of expanding the Fire Department building by 3,700 square feet to add three additional service bays and areas for equipment storage for the City's Public Works Department. The existing building, which isn't currently able to be occupied due to damage from Hurricane Michael, will be demolished to make room for the expansion and construction of a required stormwater management facility.

Cost for Plans and Specifications will be $50.00 per set and is non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to DEWBERRY ENGINEERS INC. Digital sets are available at no charge.
Completion date for this project will be 180 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed presented to the successful bidder.
Liquidated damages for failure to complete the project on the specified date will be set at $1,500.00 per day.
There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting on March 10, 2026, at 10am at Gretna City Hall 14615 Main Street, Gretna, Florida 32332
Submittal responses shall be provided electronically via DemandStar at: https://www.demandstar.com/app/buyers/bids/522484 in Adobe PDF electronic format. Submittals must be received via DemandStar no later than March 27, 2026, at 2:00 pm, EST. No proposal will be accepted after the established deadline. The City will not be responsible for any delays related to the electronic submission of proposals.
The Bid will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
All Bids shall remain firm for a period of sixty days after the opening. All bidders shall comply with all applicable State and local laws concerning licensing registration and regulation of contractors doing business to the State of Florida.
