PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE FOR REVIEW OF
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR ROAD PAVING
BY THE TOWNSHIP OF BURTCHVILLE
TO ALL OWNERS OF AND PERSONS WHO CLAIM AN INTEREST IN THE FOLLOWING-DESCRIBED PROPERTY:
Parcels of land within the Township of Burtchville located in Sheldon Beach Subdivision with frontage on the following roads:
a. Berry Drive from the east line of M-25 to the west line of Wildrose Lane.
b. Blue Water Drive from the east line ofM-25 to the west line of Wildrose Lane.
c. Clyde Drive from the east line of M-25 to the west line of Wildrose Lane.
d. Wildrose Lane from the south line of Wilkes Drive to the North line of Metcalf Road Drive.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to the provisions of Act 188, Public Acts of Michigan, 1954, as amended, a special assessment roll has been prepared and is on file in the office of the Township Clerk for public examination. Said special assessment roll has been prepared for the purpose of assessing the cost of the following described improvements to the above property benefitted therefrom:
Street improvements generally described as the demolition and asphalt paving improvements of specified roads within the Sheldon Beach Subdivision. Demolition work will include temporary traffic control, select pavement crushing and shaping, select pavement cold milling, select pavement removal and driveway approach removal. Replacement work will include select subgrade and aggregate base rehabilitation, select asphalt leveling course, asphalt surface course, aggregate shoulder, driveway approach (asphalt/concrete/pavers) replacement, restoration of disturbed lawn areas and other related items incidental to construction activities on the section of roads identified below:
1. Berry Drive from the east line of M-25 to the west line of Wildrose Lane
2. Blue Water Drive from the east line ofM-25 to the west line of Wildrose Lane.
3. Clyde Drive from the east line ofM-25 to the west line of Wildrose Lane.
4. Wildrose Lane from the south line of Wilkes Drive to the North line of Metcalf Road Drive.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Township Board will meet on Monday the 16th day of March, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., prevailing Eastern Time, at the Township Hall, 4000 Burtch Road, Lakeport, Michigan, 48059, for the purpose of reviewing said special assessment roll and hearing any objections thereto.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that appearance and protest at this hearing is required in order to appeal the amount of the special assessment to the State Tax Tribunal if an appeal should be desired. A property owner or party in interest, or his or her agent, may appear in person at the hearing to protest the special assessment or may file his or her appearance by letter delivered to the Township Clerk at or prior to the meeting to be held on March 16, 2026 and his or her personal appearance shall not be required. The property owner or any person having an interest in the property subject to the proposed special assessments may file a written appeal of the special assessment with the State Tax Tribunal within thirty-five (35) days after confirmation of the special assessment roll if that special assessment was protested at this hearing.
