BOSWELL BOROUGH
OHIO STREET SIDEWALK PROJECT
Separate and sealed bids will be received by Boswell Borough at their office located at 504 Hower Avenue Boswell, PA 15531, until 4:00 PM, Prevailing Time on March 23, 2026. Hand delivered bids will be accepted at the Borough Office on Mondays and Wednesdays between the hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Bids submitted by mail must be addressed to Boswell Borough, 504 Hower Avenue, Boswell, PA 15531. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 6:30 PM on March 23, 2026 at the regular meeting of the Borough Council.
Under this Contract, the Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, supplies, labor and appurtenances for the of approximately 3,700 square feet of ADA-compliant concrete sidewalk along Ohio Street and State Route 0601 (Atkinson Way) in Boswell Borough, including the installation of a crosswalk across State Route 0601. The project also includes a curb extension at the intersection of Ohio Street and Hower Avenue and a curb extension at the intersection of Allegheny Street and Hower Avenue.
Copies of the Bid Documents and Construction Specifications may be obtained, beginning on March 3, 2026, at the office of Apex Companies, LLC, 165 East Union Street, Somerset, PA 15501, upon deposit of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each set of hard copies. If Documents are to be mailed, add $9.50 for postage and handling. Electronic copies may be obtained upon deposit of Sixty Dollars ($60.00). Deposits for Bid Documents should be made payable to Apex Companies, LLC. To obtain bid documents, Bidders may contact Sean Fyock at 814-374-5472, or by email at sean.fyock@apexcos.com. NOT REFUNDABLE. Specifications are on file at the Apex office for viewing by interested bidders.
A certified check, payable to Owner, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and the Surety Company, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The successful Bidder(s) will be required to fully complete all work within 180 consecutive calendar days from, and including, the date indicated by the Owner in their written Notice to Proceed.
Bidders must adhere to the following Regulatory Requirements:
a. This project is funded in whole or part with state funds. Prevailing wage rates and other state requirements apply and are included in the bid documents. Labor Compliance is mandatory.
b. Notice is also hereby given that this project is regulated under Executive Order 11246 - Equal Employment Opportunity and related contract specifications apply. Regulations can be found at: www.dol.gov/agencies/ofccp/executive-order-11246.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, and to reject any or all bids.
A pre-bid conference will be held at the Boswell Borough Office at 504 Hower Avenue, Boswell, PA 15531 on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM prevailing time.
