NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Middletown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Middletown Township Building at 3 Municipal Way, Langhorne, PA and remotely through a Zoom meeting platform to receive comment and public testimony regarding the adoption of the proposed ordinance.
The proposed ordinance is entitled as follows: “AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING CHAPTER 190, CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS, ARTICLE I, FIRE PREVENTION CODE, OF THE MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADOPT THE 2021 EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE AND TO AMEND THE TOWNSHIP’S REGULATIONS ON FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS”
In summary, the proposed Ordinance would amend Chapter 190 of the Township of Middletown Code in the following manner: A. Section 190-101 is revised to adopt the 2021 International Fire Code (“IFC”) including all appendices. The ordinance sets forth violation penalties, enforcement procedures, and regulations for, inter alia, the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards and from hazardous conditions in and on buildings and premises, and for the issuance of permits and collection of fees. B. Section 190-102 is amended to revise and add certain sections to the 2021 IFC. C. Section 190-103 is amended by removing requirements for fire detection and suppression systems, plan installation standards, certification requirements, and permitting for fire systems. Section 190-104 is amended to refer generally to the IFC. The proposed ordinance also contains a partial repealer clause, a severability clause, and a provision about the proposed ordinance’s effective date.
At the public meeting after the hearing, the Board of Supervisors may consider enactment of the proposed ordinance. A copy of the proposed ordinance may be reviewed at the Township Municipal Building at 3 Municipal Way, Langhorne, PA during normal business hours.
