LEGAL NOTICE
Town of Norwell
Public Hearing
In accordance with M.G.L. C.40A, §5, the Norwell Planning Board will hold Public Hearings at the Norwell Town Hall, Room 220, 93 Longwater Circle, Norwell, MA, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., regarding the following proposed amendments to the Norwell Code, Division 3, Zoning Bylaw (ZBL), Chapter 201 which will be considered at the May 4, 2026 Annual Town Meeting, in order to: (1) revise definitions of height, small detached accessory structure, and setback, and add definitions for ridge height, finished grade, grade plane, story, and permitted projections; (2) revise the Intensity of Use Regulations (ZBL§201-9) to remove stormwater systems from lot area, amend the lot shape requirements, and amend setbacks for small accessory structures, permitted projections, bulkheads, stairs, and landings; (3) revise ZBL§201-8.4 to add allowed uses in Business District C and require site plan review for changes in use; (4) revise ZBL§201-14 (Signs) to clarify and expand various sign regulations; (5) revise ZBL§201-8.1(G) to create the category of shared driveway and expand the allowed use of common driveways; and (6) revise ZBL§201-8.1(E) to amend various regulations of accessory dwelling units to come into compliance with state statute.
