Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Dodge County Board of Adjustment on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 7:00 P.M. or shortly thereafter on the First Floor (Meeting Rooms 1H and 1I) of the Dodge County Administration Building, Juneau, Wisconsin on the appeal of JDW Properties LLC c/o Josh Wiesner for a variance to allow the construction of a sign that does not meet height, size and design standards of the Code. Freestanding signs greater than 12 square feet in area shall not exceed 20 feet in height. As proposed, the sign will be 34.83 feet in height or 14.83 feet greater than allowed, thus prohibited by the Code. Permanent signs within the Commercial zoning districts are allowed to be no greater than 200 square feet in size. As proposed, the complete sign area is to be 257.97 square feet or 57.97 greater than allowed thus prohibited by the Code. Any sign displayed on a parked trailer or truck or other vehicle where the primary purpose of the vehicle, truck, trailer, or other vehicle is to advertise a product, service, business, or other activity is prohibited. As proposed, the sign includes a boat as an integral part of the design, thus prohibited by the Code. These requests are variances to Subsections 8.9.4.I, 8.9.3.C and 8.9.4.D of the Dodge County Land Use Code.
