Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond as bid security, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the bid, payable to the Village of Mt. Calvary as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a Contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured within fifteen (15) days of the award of Contract. Should any bid be rejected, such bid security will be forthwith returned to the bidder, and should any bid be accepted, such bid bond or check will be returned upon the timely and proper execution and securing of the Contract. In case the successful bidder shall fail to execute the Contract and Performance Bond, the amount of the bid bond shall be forfeited to the Village of Mt. Calvary as liquidated damages.
