RESOLUTION NO. 2026-R-06   A RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF A HEARING BEFORE THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF HUTCHINSON, KANSAS, AT WHICH TIME THE OWNERS, THEIR AGENTS, LIENHOLDERS OF RECORD AND OCCUPANTS OF THE STRUCTURES LOCATED IN SAID CITY HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED MAY APPEAR AND SHOW JUST CAUSE WHY SUCH STRUCTURES SHOULD NOT BE CONDEMNED AND ORDERED REPAIRED OR DEMOLISHED AS DANGEROUS OR UNSAFE STRUCTURES. WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Hutchinson has found that the structure(s) on the properties described are in disrepair and are unsafe and dangerous; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF HUTCHINSON, KANSAS, THAT: SECTION 1. A hearing will be held on the 21st day of April 2026 at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 125 East Avenue B, Hutchinson, Kansas, at which time the owners, the agents, lienholders of record, and occupants of the structures located on the following described property may appear and show cause why the structures should not be condemned and ordered repaired or demolished. 1. 913 E 5th Avenue - Lots 11 and 12, Block 2, Fairview Addition to the City of Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. 2. 404 W 5th Avenue - The West Half of the following described tract: The East Half of the West 1.82 chains of tract beginning at the Southeast corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 12, Township 23 South, Range 6 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, running thence North 8.06 chains; thence West 9.75 chains to a Maple Tree; and place of beginning; thence West 6.75 chains; thence North half degree West, 2.75 chains; thence North 89 degrees East, 6.65 chains; thence South 2 degrees East, 2.88 chains to place of beginning; except portion taken for Fifth Avenue West and the Alley North of Fifth Avenue West, all in the City of Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. 3. 201 N Waldron Street - The South 93 feet of Lots 24, 25, 26, and 27, Block 3 of the Junction Subdivision to the City of Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. 4. 113 W Avenue B - The West Half of Lot 29 and all of Lot 31, Avenue "B" West, Original Town of Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. 5. 827 E 1st Street - Lot 7, Block 1, Sweet & Coe's Second Addition to the City of Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolution to be published once each week for two consecutive weeks on the same day of each week and shall otherwise give notice for such hearing in the manner provided by K.S.A 12-1750. Et seq. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.
