The city clerk of the City of Wetumpka will receive bids for City of Wetumpka Downtown Parking & City Wide Restroom Facility Improvements Wetumpka, Alabama, until April 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the City Council Chambers, City of Wetumpka, Alabama, 408 South Main Street, Wetumpka, Alabama.
Certified check or Bid Bond for 5% of bid (maximum-$10,000) made payable to the City of Wetumpka must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. The right to reject any or all bids is reserved.
The Project will include:
Parking lot and street improvements on Company Street, Spring Street and Logan Street. Restroom Facilities at Softball Field/Arena (Sports Complex), Level Community Park (Curlee Street), Tennis Courts (Sports Complex) and Meadow Brook Park (Bruce Street) includes Site Grading, Water & Sewer Utility Extension and Power Service.
NOTE: All item bids are complete in place.
The Contract documents consisting of the Advertisement for Bids, Information to Bidders, Bid, Bid Bond Agreement, General Conditions, Supplemental General Conditions, Payment Bond, Performance Bond, Notice of Award, Notice to Proceed, Drawings, Plans, Specifications, Addenda and other associated documents may be examined at the office of Larry E. Speaks & Associates, Inc., at 535 Herron Street, Montgomery, Alabama or the Office of the City Engineer, City of Wetumpka. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of Larry E. Speaks and Associates, Inc. located at 535 Herron Street, Montgomery, Alabama upon payment of $ 150.00 for each set. Upon returning the Contract Documents promptly and in good condition following the bid, $ 75.00 will be refunded to the Bidder.
All bidders must comply with the requirements of the Contractor’s Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and be certified for the type of work for which a proposal is submitted.
The bidder is hereby notified that he must provide the information necessary to show evidence of license before an award is made. The Contractor may include the following information with his bid: Name of Company, Address of Company, Telephone Number of Company, Company Contact Person, Contractor’s Current License Number, Issuing Agency (State and Expiration Date), Bid Limit and Classification.
The City of Wetumpka is required to comply with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act, § 31-13-1 et seq. of Code of Alabama 1975 (Act No. 2011-535), subsequently all bidders are required to submit an E-Verify Affidavit stating they are enrolled in the E-Verify Program with their sealed bid proposals (form will be included in the project specifications).
No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
The successful bidder will be allowed 180 days to complete this project.
The City of Wetumpka, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252.42 U.S.C.2000D to 2000D-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A. Office of the Secretary , Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award.
The right to reject any or all bids is reserved.
A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on March 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Bidder’s attendance is required.
