SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP MONROE COUNTY, PA   NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND PUBLIC MEETING ON CONDITIONAL USE REQUEST – CONSTRUCTION OF MONOPOLE WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS TOWER   The Board of Supervisors of Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Township Municipal Center located at 1155 Red Fox Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. As a meeting agenda item, a public hearing will be held at which time the Township Supervisors will inform, discuss, accept public comment and take testimony on an application for a conditional use filed by Northeast Pennsylvania SMSA LP dba Verizon Wireless to erect a cell tower. This application was filed in accordance with Section 27-512 of the Township Code of Ordinances. The project will consist of constructing a wireless communications (monopole) tower on property owned by Penn Leaders, LLC located at 2417 Gap View Drive, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301 with Tax Parcel Identification No. 16732200127327 and Tax Code No. 16.94604. The existing property consists of 5.59 acres and the pole will be located on a 30’ x 60’ foot square (1,800 sq. ft.) leased area. The project is located in the in the R-1 (Low Density Residential) Zoning District. A full copy of the application and related documents may be examined without charge at the Township Municipal Center during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.); or, a copy of the request may be obtained upon payment of the Township’s costs for copying and collating same. Immediately following this public hearing and on the same day, time and place, the Board of Supervisors will then continue with the public meeting to inter alia consider, vote and/or take official action on the conditional use application or any of the matters discussed at the public hearing; otherwise, another public hearing and/or public meeting will be scheduled upon due and proper notice prior to taking such action.
