STURGEON BAY UTILITIES
Regular Meeting
February 9th, 2026
Commission Vice-President Steve Christoferson called the regular meeting of the Utilities Commission to order at 12:00 p.m. Roll call: Mayor David Ward, Commissioners Seth Wiederanders, Dan Williams, and Dina Boettcher, were present. President Stewart Fett was present via Microsoft Teams. Commissioner Gary Nault was excused. Also present were General Manager James Stawicki, Water/Sewer Utility Manager Jeff Hoffman, Electric Manager Jason Bieri, and Christine Coulthurst.
Ward/Boettcher to adopt the agenda (complete copy on file at the Utility office). Motion carried.
There was no public comment.
Wiederanders/Williams to approve the minutes of the regular Commission meeting held on January 13th, 2026. Motion carried.
The Commission proceeded to review the bills for January in the amount of $2,371,502.47. Christoferson/Boettcher to approve payment of the bills. Motion carried.
The pre-audit December 2025 financials were presented. Ward/Williams to accept the financials. Motion carried.
General Manager Stawicki reported on the current investments and their allocations. No formal action was taken.
Next was consideration of the proposed write-offs of accounts that staff has determined to be uncollectible. Williams/Wiederanders to approve the 2025 write-offs in the amount of $6,436.45. Motion carried.
Next, Water/Sewer Utility Manager Hoffman presented for consideration the bids for aeration system, RAS/WAS pumping, and fine screen improvement projects. Ward/Wiederanders to approve the contract with Rohde Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $4,050,000.00. Motion carried.
The operations report was presented by Electric Utility Manager Bieri and Water/Sewer Utility Manager Hoffman. Boettcher/Williams to accept the operations report for January. Motion carried.
Council members updated the Commission members on City-related activities and developments.
The next item of business was the General Manager's report:
a) Adjustments
b) Focus on Energy report
Williams/Ward to adjourn. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 12:53 p.m.
