The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) prepared this document in compliance with federal regulations and the Federal Clean Water Act. Water bodies on this list that are impaired are required to have Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) determined for each pollutant added to the water that causes impairment. A TMDL reports the maximum amount of a pollutant that can be put into a stream without violating water quality standards. Copies of the draft 2026 list may be obtained and/or inspected by contacting Marquita Johnson at the above address and telephone number or by email (MJohnson@mdeq.ms.gov). The document is available electronically from MDEQ’s website (https://www.mdeq.ms.gov/ water/surface-water/tmdl/) or by requesting a paper copy that can be sent by mail. Persons wishing to comment upon the draft list are invited to submit comments in writing at the address shown above or email no later than 2 p.m. on April 13, 2026. A public hearing will be held to receive comments from the public on this draft list April 13, 2026, at 2 p.m. located at 515 East Amite Street, Jackson, MS, 39157.
