AURELIUS TOWNSHIP INGHAM COUNTY, MICHIGAN NOTICE OF ORDINANCE ADOPTION THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF AURELIUS TOWNSHIP, INGHAM COUNTY AND TO ALL OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS: The following is a summary of Ordinance No. 2026-02 that was adopted by the Aurelius Township Board of Trustees at a regular meeting on Monday, March 10, 2026, to enact a temporary non-zoning ordinance on data centers; to specify findings summarizing the need for a temporary moratorium; to set an expiration of the temporary moratorium on February 1, 2027; to allow for an extension of the temporary moratorium; to provide for severability; to repeal conflicting ordinances; to set an effective date. A NON-ZONING TEMPORARY MORATORIUM ORDINANCE ON DATA CENTERS SECTION 1. FINDINGS. This section list findings as to why the Township Board determined that implementing a temporary moratorium to allow the Planning Commission time to research zoning ordinance amendments for data centers is in the best interests of the Township. SECTION II. MORATORIUM/TERM OF MORATORIUM. The temporary moratorium expires on February 1, 2027. SECTION III. EXTENSION OF MORATORIUM. This Section authorizes the Township Board to extend the temporary moratorium. SECTION IV. SEVERABILITY. The provisions of this Ordinance are severable. SECTION V. REPEAL. All conflicting ordinances are hereby repealed. SECTION VI. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance is effective the day after publication, after adoption.
