AURELIUS TOWNSHIP INGHAM COUNTY, MICHIGAN NOTICE OF ORDINANCE ADOPTION THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF AURELIUS TOWNSHIP, INGHAM COUNTY AND TO ALL OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS: The following is a summary of Ordinance No. 2026-03 that was adopted by the Aurelius Township Board of Trustees at a regular on Monday, March 10, 2026, to amend definitions and interpretations related to mobile homes and trailers/campers; to provide for general regulations of the same; to require temporary housing permits for emergency situations; to define parking areas; to repeal conflicting ordinances; to provide for severability and to provide for an effective date. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 16 OF THE TOWNSHIP ZONING ORDINANCE – MOBILE HOMES AND CAMPERS/TRAILERS SECTION 1. Definitions and Interpretations. This section amends Chapter 16, Article II, Division 1, Section 16-41 of the Township Zoning Ordinance to add definitions to define terms used in the Zoning Ordinance regarding mobile homes and campers/trailers. SECTION II. General Regulations. This section amends Chapter 16, Article III, Division 2, Section 16-242 of the Township Zoning Ordinance to add general regulations for mobile homes and campers/trailers; requires water/sanitary sewage facilities prohibits certain type of mobile homes as recreational vehicle dwellings. SECTION III. Temporary Housing Permits. This Section amends Chapter 16, Article IV, Section 16-571 of the Township Zoning Ordinance to allow for temporary housing permits in emergency situations. SECTION IV. Jurisdiction. This Section amends Chapter 16, Article V, Section 16-606 of the Township Zoning Ordinance to regulate the use of parking areas; to prohibit commercial activity; and, to provide weight limitations. SECTION V. Severability. The provisions of this Ordinance are severable. SECTION VI. Repeal. All conflicting ordinances are hereby repealed. SECTION VII. Effective Date. This Ordinance is effective the day after publication, after adoption.
