NOTICE OF INTENTION TO LEVY SALES AND
USE TAX AND HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Shreveport, State of Louisiana (the “City Council”), acting as the governing authority of the Film and Entertainment Gateway Economic Development District, State of Louisiana (the “District”) will meet at its meeting place, Council Chambers, Government Plaza, 505 Travis Street, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101, on April 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM, at which time the District intends to take action regarding the levy and collection of a two percent (2%) sales and use tax upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental, the consumption, the distribution and the storage for use or consumption, of each item of tangible personal property or digital product and on the sales of services, and upon any other transactions, items, or categories that may hereafter be made subject to State sales or use tax unless otherwise prohibited, in the District, as defined by law, and a two percent (2%) hotel occupancy tax upon a fee or rent for occupancy of hotel rooms located within the District commencing on July 1, 2026, all in the manner and subject to the provisions and terms of those portions of Title 47 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended, applicable to sales and use taxes and hotel occupancy taxes levied by the District, for the purposes of funding construction of, acquisition of, and upgrades to capital improvement and economic development projects within the District’s boundaries and any and all authorized purposes under the applicable provisions of Part II, Chapter 27, Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended (La. R.S. 33:9038.31, et seq.).
