City Council Work Session Minutes
March 16, 2026
The regularly scheduled council work session was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Robert Kramme. Bill Stevens, Scott Andreas, Loren Steinkamp, Jenni Heller, Perry Smith were present. Shari Buehler, City Clerk, and Logan Carpenter, Public Works, Jim Thornton, City Attorney were also present. Forrest Aldrich with Veenstra and Kimm and Mike Wille City Planner were presenting this evening
Items of Discussion
Forrest Aldrich with Veenstra and Kimm spoke about a sewer study and the costs associated with the study. Looking at two options as suggested by the WRA. This may be a FY 26/27 study but other options are being looked into. This study would take a minimum of six months
Speed Calming Measures on 134th Avenue. Council would like to see if the Alleman Betterment welcome sign would be an option for the space in option #2. This a FY 26/27 project as presented by Forrest Aldrich
Drainage north of 134th. Forrest Aldrich presented a concept drawing of what repairs would look like and will now go back and look into costs. This would be a FY 26/27 or beyond project
Speed Hump prices were presented by Carpenter. Carpenter made suggestions on other placement to lower the estimated 17,000 cost. This would be a FY 26/27 or beyond project
Council asked Thornton to begin the legal process of lowering the speed in Alleman to 20 MPH
March 30 Max Tax Meeting, Public Hearing will be at 7PM. After that a meeting will be a held to pass a Resolution on the Polk County Alleman Park

At 8:15 PM Mayor Kramme asked if there was any further city business. All Ayes and Kramme closed the March 16, 2026 Alleman City Council Work Session. The next Alleman City Council meeting will be April 13, 2026 Alleman City Hall.
