Project Name: West Lafayette Jr./Sr. High School Roof Replacement 2026
Notice is hereby given the governing body of West Lafayette Community School Corporation (“School”) is requesting bids from qualified contractors to provide work and services related to routine operation, repair, and/or maintenance of its buildings and facilities at West Lafayette Jr./Sr. High School (“Project”). Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m., EST,on April 8, 2026. Bids must be delivered to Roberta Julian,West Lafayette Community School Corporation, 3061 Benton Street, West Lafayette, IN 47906 and via email to julianr@wl.k12.in.us. Bids received after this deadline will not be accepted and returned to that bidder. Bids will be opened and read aloud in public immediately after the closing time.
All work for complete construction of and services for the Project shall be performed under one or more contracts with School. The contract requirements are set forth in published bidding documents. Bidders must submit a completed SBOA Form 96 (https://forms.in.gov/Download.aspx?id=6422), financial statement, statement of experience, proposed plan or plans for performing the work, and the resources, labor, technology, materials, supplies, and equipment bidder has available for the performance of the work. Bidders must include a satisfactory bid bond or certified check pursuant to Ind. Code 36-1-12-4.5, payable to " West Lafayette Community School Corporation." Bid security shall be in the amount of 1% of the bidder's total contract price. Should a successful bidder within ten (10) days after written notice of acceptance of bid withdraw its bid, fail to provide the required payment and performance bonds, or execute a satisfactory contract, School may then declare that bid security forfeited as liquidated damages, not as a penalty.
Wage rates shall not apply to any project. All contractors and sub-contractors must comply with all applicable laws including but not limited to the requirements of Ind. Code 36-1-12, 5-16-13, et seq., and as detailed in published bidding documents. Contractors must also be able to meet all requirements found in applicable licensing, public works, purchasing, and contract statutes.
Bidding documents for each project, including plans and specification are on file with School and may also be examined at distribution.easternengineering.com. Bidders must register to receive notices, addendums and other communications related to the bidding documents.
Prior to approval and execution of School's contract, the contractor(s) who is the successful bidder shall furnish an approved performance and labor and materials payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract amount, which shall cover faithful performance of the contract and payment of all obligations arising thereunder. Performance and payment bonds shall remain in full force and effect for a period of one year after School's acceptance of the work and School's final settlement with the successful bidder.
A prebid conference will be held at 2:00 pm, EST, on March 26, 2026 at West Lafayette Jr/Sr. High School, 1105 Grant Street, West Lafayette, IN. Attendance by bidders is optional, but recommended, and bidders can ask questions concerning plans/specifications for the Project.
School expects to award a contract(s) for the Project to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder(s) at its April 13, 2026 board meeting. School reserves the right to hold bids, including any alternates, for up to 60 days from the date of bid opening. School reserves in its sole discretion the right to cancel the solicitation, reject any and all bids, is not obligated to accept the lowest or any other bid, and may waive any irregularities, discrepancies, omissions, variances or informalities in the bidding procedure.
