LEGAL NOTICE   Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Roaring Brook Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania will hold a public hearing for the purpose of receiving comment on (1) the adoption of a proposed Amendment to the Roaring Brook Township Zoning Ordinance to amend the definition of Junk Yard and to amend Section 515-Junk Yards; and (2) the adoption of an Abandoned and Junk Vehicle Ordinance. Such public hearing shall take place on April 2, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at the Roaring Brook Township Municipal Building, 430 Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Township, Pennsylvania 18444.   The full texts of the Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and the Abandoned and Junk Vehicle Ordinance are on file with this newspaper and at the following locations: the Roaring Brook Township Municipal Building, 430 Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Township, Pennsylvania 18444, the Lackawanna County Solicitor’s Office, 123 Wyoming Avenue, 6th Floor, Scranton, Pennsylvania 18503, the Lackawanna County Regional Planning Commission, 123 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, Pennsylvania 18503 and the Lackawanna County Law Library, 200 North Washington Avenue, Scranton, Pennsylvania 18503. The proposed Ordinances can be reviewed at the Roaring Brook Township Municipal Building between 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.   A summary of the Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and the Abandoned and Junk Vehicles Ordinance is as follows.   The Junk Yard definition as well as Section 515-Junk Yards in the Roaring Brook Township Zoning Ordinance will be updated to include reference to the Roaring Brook Township Abandoned and Junk Vehicle Ordinance which shall prohibit the outdoor storage of abandoned and junk vehicles. The purpose of the Roaring Brook Township Abandoned and Junk Vehicle Ordinance is to declare abandoned and junk vehicles a public nuisance and to abate such public nuisance in order to prevent the blight and deterioration of property, and to protect property values within the municipality and abate public health hazards.   John M.
