NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
25th Rio Grande Trail Commission Meeting

The Rio Grande Trail Commission will hold a regular meeting on Friday, April 10, 2026. The meeting will be held at the Doña Ana County Commission Chambers, 845 N Motel Blvd, Las Cruces, New Mexico 88007. This meeting will also be available for participation by using the video conference and teleconferencing application Microsoft Teams. You may join the meeting in-person, online, or by telephone starting at 9:00 AM.
The purpose of the Rio Grande Trail Commission (RGTC) meeting is to advance the development of the Rio Grande Trail (RGT), a statewide route planned to extend from Colorado to Texas. The Commission is central to moving this effort forward, and this meeting will focus on key next steps. Agenda items include reports from the four subcommittees—Alignment, Legislative, Tribal, and Non-Profit—as well as discussion on designating additional trail segments. These meetings are also an opportunity for the public to shape the future of the RGT.
Pre-Meeting Gathering – Thursday, April 9, 2026
As part of the Commission's effort to engage the public and explore potential trail segments, an informal event will be held the day prior:
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Southern Gateway Tour: DinoTracks & Sunland Park
- Meeting Location: From McNutt Road, go approximately 1000 feet southeast on Cristo Rey Rd.
- Schedule: The tour will begin with the INSIGHT El Paso DinoTracks site, the location of a future trailhead facility. After that, participants will see a portion of the recently constructed multi-use trail along the Rio Grande River in Sunland Park.

Liability waivers must be signed by all attendees (including Students & Chaperones) prior to the beginning of the tour. Said waivers MUST be submitted on the day of your tour, to your tour guides.
