TOWN OF SWANSEA PLANNING BOARD PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE In accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A, Section 5, the Swansea Planning Board will hold a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the Town of Swansea Zoning Bylaw. The proposed amendment would create a new section titled “Article XXI – Large-Scale Ground-Mounted Solar Photovoltaic Installations and ARTICLE XXII – Commercial Battery Energy Storage Systems.” The purpose of the amendment is to establish regulations governing the siting, development, operation, and decommissioning of large-scale solar photovoltaic installations. The amendment also establishes standards for commercial battery energy storage systems, which shall be limited to the Manufacturing Zoning District except as accessory use.
