Preliminary Public Notice for Potential Impacts to Floodplains
Bright Spot Solar LLC intends to seek financial assistance from U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Rural Business Service (RBS), Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) for construction of 26 solar trackers. The proposed project consists of 12 new solar trackers at 17 Sterling Drive and 13 new solar trackers at 18 Sterling Drive. The solar trackers will be installed on the ground around the existing self-storage buildings at both 17 and 18 Sterling Drive. At 17 Sterling Drive, two of the trackers are proposed within the 100-year floodplain. If implemented, the proposed project will convert less than 0.005 acres of the 100-year floodplain to solar use. In accordance with Executive Order 11988, Floodplain Management, the purpose of this notice is to inform the public of this proposed e:ect and to request comments concerning the proposal, any alternative sites or actions that would avoid these impacts, and mitigation and minimization methods that could be used to reduce these impacts.
