SECTION 00030 - ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids from qualified General Contractors will be received by the South Landry Housing Authority, Owner, at the South Landry Housing Authority Office, 400 Crepe Myrtle Drive, Grand Coteau, LA, 337/662-3573, until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026, for South Landry Housing 2024 CFP Modernization Project for the South Landry Housing Authority, Grand Coteau, Louisiana, Architect's Project No. 2601.
This project consists of complete interior modernization of 1 two bedroom living unit and 1 three bedroom living unit at Site LA-73-5 (Pine Crest) in Sunset, LA. Modernization includes new exterior doors & frames, exterior storm doors, windows, interior doors & frames, door hardware, flooring wood base & shoe, gas wall heaters/s, gas water heaters, plumbing fixtures, kitchen cabinets & countertops, synthetic marble tub/shower surround, gypsum wall board, electrical wiring, receptacles, electrical panels, light fixtures, painting.
Work also includes reroofing of 4 duplex buildings (2 bldgs at Site LA-73-5 (Sunset) and 2 bldgs at Site LA-73-8 (Grand Coteau).
Work also includes removal of existing and replacement with new gas wall heaters at six (6) living units at various sites in Sunset & Grand Coteau, LA.
Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope, with the following information plainly marked on the outside of the envelope:
1. A Bid for South Landry Housing 2024 CFP Modernization Project
2. Name of Contractor, and
3. License Number of Contractor.
Bidding documents may be reviewed at the offices of BARRAS ARCHITECTS, 921 Harding Street, Lafayette, LA, Ph: 337-267-3400, Fax: 337-267-3475, and at certain plan rooms in Louisiana.
Note to Prospective Bidders: Bidders are requested to pay particular attention to HUD Document 5370 (11/2006) related to Section 40 “Employment, Training, and Contracting Opportunities for Low-Income Persons, Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968.”
Application for documents, together with deposit of $ 100.00 per set should be filed promptly with BARRAS ARCHITECTS, 921 Harding Street, Lafayette, LA 70503, phone 337/267-3400. Bidding materials will be forwarded, shipping charges prepaid, as soon as possible. The full amount of deposit for 1 set will be refunded to each prime Bidder who submits a bona fide bid upon return of such set in good condition within 10 days after date of opening bids. All other deposits for complete sets will be refunded with deductions of 50% approximating reproduction and mailing costs upon return of same in good condition within 10 days after date of opening bids. Otherwise, the entire deposit may be retained by the Architect. Partial sets of documents will not be issued.
This is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development assisted project. Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. Successful Contractor will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, creed, color, sex, age, or national origin.
Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump-sum basis to a Bidder licensed under the provisions of the Contractors Licensing Law of the State of Louisiana. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the time and date of opening. Bid must be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of base bid. Both performance and payment bonds will be required in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.
