Notice of Public Hearing Charlton Planning Board
Pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 40A, Section 5, the Charlton Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Planning Board Office, Charlton Municipal Office Building, 37 Main Street, Charlton, MA 01507 to consider amending the Charlton Zoning By-Law by revising sections of the zoning by-law. Specific proposed zoning by-law revisions as follows:
1. Add definition to Section 200-2.1, potentially but not limited to: Major Resident Development, Frontage, Street, Amend the diagram of lot shape and setback examples, Large Solar Energy System, Energy Storge.
2. Section 200-5.13 Amend the setback requirements for reduced frontage lots.
3. Amend section 200-3.3 C. Special Cases including but not limited to reformat into subsections, allow for Special Permits granted by the Planning Board.
4. Amending the allowed uses in the Use Regulation table section 200-3.2 B and other related changes.
5. Amend section 200-5.21 Large Solar Energy Systems
The compete text of the proposed amendment is available at the Planning Office and Town Clerk’s Office for public inspection during regular business hours. Any person interested or wishes to be heard on the zoning proposal should appear at the time and place designated. The application is also posted on the Town website under the Planning Board.
