PUBLIC NOTICE
BOROUGH OF BARNEGAT LIGHT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Bruce M. Peterson (the "Applicant") is seeking minor site plan approval and a bulk variance from the Planning Board of the Borough of Barnegat Light (the "Board") relative to proposed development at the property designated as Lot 3 in Block 12 on the Tax Map of the Borough of Barnegat Light, located at 605 Broadway. The property is currently developed with a mixed-use building, with a single-family dwelling toward the rear of the property, and connected commercial space toward the front of the property. The Applicant is seeking approval to utilize the commercial space as a retail store.
Under Section 215-9(G) of the Barnegat Light Zoning Ordinance, each business use shall provide off-street loading space at the side or rear of the building at the rate of one space (10 feet by 25 feet with adequate ingress and egress) for each 5,000 square feet of floor area or fraction thereof in each building. The Applicant is seeking a variance from the requirement to provide an off-street loading space. Although the Applicant believes that no additional variances, waivers or exceptions are required, any additional variances, waivers or exceptions deemed necessary or appropriate by the Board will be requested at the public hearing.
A public hearing is scheduled in this matter for April 15, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Barnegat Light Borough Hall, which is located at 10 East 7th Street, Barnegat Light, New Jersey 08006, at which time all interested parties may appear personally or by agent or attorney and present any comments which they have on the proposed application.
Copies of the application are on file in the Barnegat Light Borough Hall and may be reviewed by all interested parties during normal business hours.
