Notice of Special Education Records Destruction by
Perry Township Schools
In compliance with the Individual Disabilities Act (IDEA) and Perry Township Schools local procedures regarding the destruction of data collected, maintained or used in the provision of a free and appropriate public education of students with disabilities, Perry Township Schools Special Education Department announces its intention to destroy special education records during the month of May, 2026. Records on students who were enrolled in a special education program in Perry Township Schools, born in 2004, unless otherwise required to be retained, are no longer needed for educational purposes.
The student or parent may need these records for Social Security or other reasons. If you, as a former special education student or a parent of a former special education student, wish to obtain these records prior to destruction, you should contact the Special Education Department, Perry Township Schools, 6548 Orinoco Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227. Positive identification will be required before the records can be released to the individual.
